From
Tuesday 25 May to Saturday 29 May 2010 the European Broadcasting Union
(EBU) presents
the 55th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest through the Norwegian
public broadcaster NRK in Oslo. All participants in the Eurovision Song
Contest must take part in a semi-final round to qualify for the final
session, where they join the big four (contest founders France, Germany,
Spain, and UK) and the host country, winner of the previous year's contest.
The finalists will be selected during two semi-final sessions on Tuesday
and Thursday before the final. Malta's entry will appear during the first
semi-final contest on Tuesday 25 May 2010.
Malta's
representative for 2010 Thea Garrett will sing My Dream,
written by the Eurovision veterans Jason Paul Cassar and Sunny Aquilina.
Back in 1998, this duo wrote song The One That I Love for Chiara,
who placed second at that year's Eurovision final. Thea is a new comer
on the scene at the tender age of 18.
This
website offers all the basic information and news updates about Malta's
entry for this festival. The contest, which has been broadcast every
year since 1956 in the majority of European countries, holds the record
as the longest-running annual programme on TV.
Over these pages we document several aspects of this popular song contest
on the Internet, including lyrics, images and video, as well as the
latest news reports from MaltaMedia.com, and much more.
