Saturday 24th May 2003, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) presented
the 48th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest at the Skonto Olympic
Complex in Riga, Latvia. The contest, which has been broadcast every year
since 1956 in the majority of European countries, probably holds the record
as the longest-running programme on TV.
